Which audio format
- MP3: plays on every phone, player and website. About 1.4 MB per minute at 192 kbps.
- M4A: the video's own sound, copied as it is when it's AAC, as it is in most MP4s. No quality lost, often the smallest file.
- WAV: uncompressed, for editing or for tools that ask for WAV. About 10 to 11 MB per minute of stereo.
Videos from WhatsApp, Instagram and phones
Videos saved from WhatsApp, Telegram or a phone's camera are MP4 (MOV from an iPhone) with AAC sound, and all of them work. Save the video to your device first, then drop it here or use Choose a file.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

Can I convert a YouTube or Instagram link?
No. AudioRinse works on files on your device; it doesn't download from websites. If you have the video file, drop it here.
How long can the file be?
Up to 4 hours. Only the sound is converted, not the picture, so even a long video is quick.
The sound is noisy or too quiet. Can I fix it?
