This recording was placed in a bare, echoey room.“After” is AudioRinse at its default strength. The voice is synthetic, so we can share it freely.

How it works

  1. 1Drop the recording onto the box above.
  2. 2AudioRinse first predicts and subtracts the room's reflections (an algorithm called WPE), then cleans what's left with a speech model, all on your device.
  3. 3Compare with the original and set the strength.
  4. 4Download.

Questions

Is my recording uploaded anywhere?

No. AudioRinse runs the cleaning model inside your browser, on your own computer. Your file never leaves your device, so there's no upload to wait for and nothing stored on a server.

How much reverb can it remove?

It clearly reduces the ringing room sound after words and makes the voice drier and closer. A recording made in a very large, hard room won't become studio-dry; no single-microphone tool can fully undo heavy reverb. Light to moderate rooms (offices, bedrooms, classrooms) improve the most.

Why does it take longer than noise removal?

Reverb removal runs two passes: one that models the room and one that cleans the voice. Expect 2 to 3 minutes for a 10-minute recording on a recent laptop; noise removal alone takes under a minute.

Does it work on singing or music?

It's designed for speech. Music has intentional reverb that it would treat as room sound.

Is it free?

Cleaning and listening are free and unlimited. You get 3 free downloads a month for audio files up to 10 minutes (1 without an account). Pro adds unlimited downloads, files up to 1 hour and video.
