Drop the files to join

MP3 · WAV · M4A · MP4 · MOV · WEBM — up to 1 hour in all. Nothing is uploaded.

How it works

  1. Drop all the files onto the box above at once, or one by one with Add files. MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC and the sound of videos all mix.
  2. They're listed in name order (Part 2 before Part 10). Move any of them up or down with the arrows.
  3. Choose what goes between them: nothing, a 1-second gap, or a 2-second crossfade. Play it to hear the joins.
  4. Download the whole as one MP3, M4A or WAV, free with no limit.

Between the files

  • Nothing: each file starts where the one before ends. The two are crossfaded over 10 milliseconds, too short to hear, so the join doesn't click. For parts of one recording, or an album that plays without gaps.
  • 1 s gap: a second of silence, for separate recordings such as chapters, answers or voice notes.
  • Crossfade: the end of one fades out as the next fades in, over 2 seconds, for songs in a mix.

Files that don't match

The files don't have to be alike. Each one is decoded and brought to 48 kHz, so an MP3 from a phone can follow a WAV from a recorder. A mono file plays in both channels when another is stereo, and the result is stereo.

If one file is much quieter than the others, bring it up with the volume booster or the loudness normalizer first, then join.

Questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. AudioRinse joins them inside your browser, on your own device. Your files never leave it, so there's no upload to wait for and nothing stored on a server.

Is it free?

Yes, with no limit, no account and no watermark. AudioRinse earns from its cleaning tools.

How many files can I join?

As many as you like, up to 1 hour in all. On a computer with little memory the page takes less, and says which files it couldn't add.

Can I trim a file before joining it?

Cut it in the audio cutter first, download it, then add the cut file here.

Does joining lower the quality?

A WAV loses nothing. An MP3 or M4A is encoded once, at 192 kbps, more than most MP3s are made at.
