Drop the files to join

MP3 · WAV · M4A · MP4 · MOV · WEBM — up to 1 hour in all. Nothing is uploaded.

How it works

  1. Drop all the MP3s onto the box above at once, or one by one with Add files.
  2. They're listed in name order, so 01, 02 and 03 come out right. Move any of them with the arrows.
  3. Join them back to back, with a second of silence, or with a 2-second crossfade, and play it to check.
  4. Download one MP3, free with no limit.

Merging audiobook chapters and podcast parts

Name order is the order most audiobooks, lectures and recorder files are numbered in, so dropping a folder's worth of MP3s usually puts them right at once: "Chapter 2" comes before "Chapter 10", which a plain sort gets wrong. Check the list, move what's out of place, and join them back to back.

Joined back to back, each file starts where the one before ends, crossfaded over 10 milliseconds so the join doesn't click.

MP3 quality

Tools that join MP3s without decoding them glue the files' frames together. That plays properly only when every file has the same sample rate and channels, and it leaves a short gap where each encoder padded its file's ends. AudioRinse decodes every file, joins the sound, and encodes one new MP3 at 192 kbps, which is more than most MP3s are made at. To lose nothing at all, download a WAV.

Questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The MP3s are merged inside your browser, on your own device, and never leave it.

Is it free?

Yes, with no limit, no account and no watermark.

Can I merge an MP3 with a WAV or an M4A?

Yes. Each file is decoded, so any mix of MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC and the sound of videos works, and the result is one MP3 (or an M4A or WAV if you pick one).

How many MP3s can I merge?

As many as you like, up to 1 hour in all.

Does it keep the title and cover art?

No: the merged MP3 has the sound only. Most music apps let you add a title and cover to it.
